I have to admit I my DIN/Yoke adapters are a few years old & adds a bit of (unwanted) length behind my head. Would you be so kind as to post a link to the new types you are describing? I'd definitely be interested!
Thanks,
We still have TWO of these MR-22's in our gear locker. Up until a few years ago, they were our primaries. They are great regs & you can still get servicing & parts for them.
FWIW, my original reg was a Blizzard. It is a workhorse that is great in all water temps and is basically environmentally...
The short answer: no, unless the person donning the drysuit has "issues". ;)
The exposure protection that has given me the most problems to get in & out of were 1/4" (5mm) neoprene wetsuits. On many occasions during my training up to Rescue Diver the amount of time it took me to actually get in...
I have to agree with decompression: most people that act as dive guides & "divemasters" in resort areas are actually Instructors. Many of them have multiple Specialties, which make them even more desirable/employable.
So if you want some experience, why not DM in your own area? Otherwise, do...
If you have a private boat, you can pretty much dive whenever you want. I just remember being up there on Thanksgiving & having to call G+S to get fills; boat dives were pretty much impossible.
It's been a while since we've been to Buddy's but I have never seen anything but a standard (non DIN) tank anywhere on Bonaire.
To be honest, if I'm going on vacation for a week or more, I switch out my DIN for a traditional yoke because I can't stand the extra length the adapter adds behind my...
Generally, things close up in Toby after Labour Day. You can still dive, but you have to make arrangements with specific dive operations to see if any will be open at that time.
Bonne chance,
Actually, you are better off making a list of features that you want your new gear to have, then finding equipment that fulfills your criteria. Where it's made is not nearly as important as usability, fit, and quality.
In a word: YES.
As with any piece of equipment, good maintenance goes a long way towards fewer problems. Add in being mindful of seals & that all-important drysuit zipper, and you will find that drysuit issues are really few & far between.
Example: my current drysuit is a DUI 350TLS that I...
After years of hassling with various BCs (male/female; jacket/hybrid) I decided to go with a backplate & wings. No -- I'm not a tech diver -- I'm just someone who wants a customizable set up where your anatomy doesn't dictate whether or not you're comfortable in a particular BC.
So I bought a...
There are a number of areas where your anxiety and apprehension simply got the best of you. First & foremost, never be afraid or embarrassed to call a dive. If you are not feeling 100%, there is no need to push yourself to dive: the water will always be there waiting for you when you are up to...
Recently my hard drive crashed. So I reset my main SB password. But of course now the chat is a different thing altogether. I asked for a reset. Jumped through hoops & now it doesn't recognize the password it supposedly sent???
I try to get another, but it tells me I have to wait 15 minutes...
