    Heads up

Many of the more reliable forecast models show Isaac weakening and moving over the western Caribbean as an open wave, the hurricane center said earlier Friday. Let's hope that holds true.

    Exchange rate?

Been following it on Wall Street Journal web site. Currently 18.6 to 1 (USDMXN Currency Prices and News - Mexican Peso - Wall Street Journal). It fluctuates a lot and the exchange will take a sip of the transaction.

    Blue Angel breakfast

Blue Angel breakfasts are made to order. Light (bagel and cream cheese) to heavy (Diver’s Omelet consisting of Sweet peppers, onion, spinach, mushroom, ham and bacon with melted Cheese holding it all together). As good as it gets IMO.

Floated Up and Couldn't Get Down

Same happened to me on a multi-level dive. Used to descending then ascending upright. Slow ascent, not in upright position and air from BCD would not escape. Now I know better - use the rear dump valve when trying to get back down :)

    Coz in September?

I was there mid-September last year. This was when Maria was beating up Puerto Rico and cruise ships detoured from that area to Coz. Ocean was like a bathtub all 7 days - warm and flat. We did not purchase trip insurance.

dumb question (yeah, I know).... but do I need to bring a beach towel??

Small cotton towel (washrag size) for the boat IMO. Blue Angel allows you to check out a beach towel; I suppose others do too.

Quick question - Where to find a Cambio

I tipped the cute divemaster chick $25; how far will $40 go?

    Cancun to Cozumel

As far as tipping goes.. I would tip more than the states on the smaller boats because of the level of service. They set up the gear for me on both dives (and I hate switching tanks myself). I tipped 300 pesos (about $18). Elloti my dive master got a little more so she could buy more high heels :)

Good place for hydro in SF Bay Area

$60 for the hydro + $6/$8 for the fill at Bamboo Reef SF. 2 week turnaround. So it depends what's more convenient for you. Used to be $50 me thinks :(

Is there a list for empty airline seats?

Book SW at the most reasonable fare you'd expect to pay. If you find a better deal cancel and rebook / "bank" the difference. Use the SW low fare calendar.

    Blue Angel Resort review

I just stayed there for 7 nights. Ditto on most everything you say. I brought a plastic bag full of TP down to the public restrooms and dumped it there when necessary - that took care of that. Dive gear storage was a breeze - dunk it, have a beer while it dries a little then put it out on the...

    All inclusive with shore diving?

+1. We just spent 7 nights at Blue Angel and ate every meal at their restaurant. The free breakfast served 6 to 11:30 is a made to order and is a full breakfast - everything on the menu. Everything was yum yum yum with a fantastic staff. Happy Hour is 4-6 :) Water is included - there is bottled...
