How do you like Aqualung hotshot fins?

I'm in desperate need of new fins and since I'm looking for something I can use both at home and traveliing, I thought these looked interesting. Anyone have any experience, opinions?

Spring in Mexico...not a fan of Cancun...been to Cozumel 1x...suggestions

I love Akumal as well, and the original Akumal Dive Shop. We've always stayed in Half Moon Bay at Hacienda la Tortuga. The diving is better in Xcalak, but the access to Akumal is way easier...and caverns!

    scuba pedicure

I was inspired! Thanks so much for the photo. Just added a white stripe to my right foot big toe nail which was already red...didn't have any rhinestones! We'll see what comments I get when I go out this week! As for the manicure discussion...I just gave up on manicures...the gels were great...

Spring in Mexico...not a fan of Cancun...been to Cozumel 1x...suggestions

Happy to...I love the place! XTC (Xcalak to Chinchorro) is the dive shop! Over the years we've stayed in other places, but, my favorite place to stay is Casa Carolina, they have a long dock which is necessary here to get past the very shallow water and turtle grass...the dive boat picks you up...

Spring in Mexico...not a fan of Cancun...been to Cozumel 1x...suggestions

If you're ok with pretty much nothing to do besides diving and just hanging out...Check out xcalak...it's pretty fantastic...there is one really great restaurant that may or may not be open! Fabulous birding and other animal sightings as well...if you want more information about places to stay...

Spring in Mexico...not a fan of Cancun...been to Cozumel 1x...suggestions

I live in Loreto and the diving is great. I would recommend Dolphin Dive Center...but, big but for me...you will likely encounter water temperatures between 60 and 70 late winter and early spring. That's when I head for the Caribbean side...I am familiar with Akumal (the original dive shop) it's...

Best Baja diving - where and when?

The Dolphin Dive Center website claims water temps from 60-65 and visibility from 30-60 feet from Jan-March. Likely warmer than Puget Sound! Caveat...this is just the website...not personal information.

Best Baja diving - where and when?

I can't tell you why winter/spring isnt the best because I haven't done it! For me its the cold. Ive tried March and May and June and all were 7 mll. That's why I'm suggesting you ask Rafael (Rafa)...he dives all year and can tell you what it's like. Nankivell is right on about September/October...

Best Baja diving - where and when?

I think Loreto is a great dive destination, but I don't dive here february-April. It's just too cold for my taste! That's when I go to Xcalak! Nevertheless there are less wimpy divers who dive here in the winter. Contact Rafael at Dolphin Dive Center for information about that time frame. If you...

    A week in Loreto

Beautiful photos...enjoyed your report. Come back and try the other islands. I live here in Loreto and I dive here July-October. I think the best time is late September, early October when the water temp is the mid-high 80's and depending upon weather conditions, visibility can be 100 feet. I...
