It's pretty crazy how fast its expanding. There's a lot of construction going on at the moment to put in an auditorium that can hold 10,000 people. I just started working in Technical Services on the cardiology and radiology applications.
Bummer... Have fun at the game.
I just started working at Epic - actually, today was my first day of work. And I try to stay out of the politics. Not educated enough in what's been going on locally to be a good voter yet. But the area is very nice. I joined up for the two lake clean up dives...
Hi Julia! Welcome to SB! I just move to Madison myself for work. I'm planning on driving up to Devil's Lake for a dive or two on Saturday. Send me a message if you're interesting in coming!
Welcome!
There's a group up in Redondo that meets every Wed night and Sat/Sun Mornings. Check out their forum at DiveVets : Friends Getting Wet! | Join our active and fun group of SoCal divers.
There's also another group that meets in Laguna every tuesday night (not entirely sure on this one -...
I was on an unrelated forum and I noticed a pretty interesting feature that they have implemented. When you input the title for a new thread, the forum does a quick search based on the words and returns previous threads whose titles contain the same words. Seems to me like that would be...
It might just be a fluke. I have a DR basic harness from late 2009/early 2010 as well as a newer from earlier this year and they are both fairly stiff.
I still use a Casio G-Shock DW5600E that I picked up when I first started diving. It's a great watch and a good bottom timer that even has a backlight. However, the buttons can be a bit challenging to use with thicker gloves.
If you're going to be diving in colder waters, don't forget to consider the "shrinkage factor". Also, the acceptable wedgie level would have to depend on the level of "support" you desire for your nether regions - i.e. similar to choosing boxers or briefs based on the level of support desired. :D
If you're looking for a backup light, I'd go with a Dorcy II/Penetrator 220. You can get a new one for around half the cost of the halon light in the link and it uses AAA batteries rather than CR123A batteries.

I would hold off on buying weights until after your OW class. Perhaps even until a while after the class.
I did my OW class in a jacket style BC and the dive shop I took the class which supplied all of the weights I used during the class. After the class, I went and bought a bp/w and 20 lbs of...
I use a hanger like the one in the picture. Boots go on the outermost posts. Gloves go on the inner posts. Hang it up in a place with shade and ventilation. Dries in about a day.
Yes. But the fact that he's asking about exposure protection implies that he is diving somewhere where it's cold enough for him to need it. Hence the shrinkage
As for the tightness, is the suit new? My wetsuit was pretty tight in the beginning but it loosened up after 10 or so dives.
