Crazy question from the family table

Thanks, seems like quite an undertaking! Guess it is better to learn the family that sport diving is not about depth, but about seeing beautifull stuff in the shallow.

Crazy question from the family table

Hi Yesterday at the family table, the conversation turned to scuba diving, since the boyfriend of my wifes cousin occasionally dives as well. Soon the craziest questions popped up from non divers. And on one question, I had absolutely no clue what to answer. But I’m curious for the answer...

    Belgian diver missing in France

They made an attempt to recover the body .... causing the death of another diver ... https://www.hln.be/nieuws/binnenland/-duiker-overleden-tijdens-zoektocht-naar-marc-sluszny~ad4ef400/ It would have been a better decision not to risk any lives to recover the body. I guess they wanted to...

    REVIEW: CREE MC-E Diving Light

My story about the dealextreme SSC P7 version: Last winter, I started reading about it, and saw that many people praised this light? As I needed another lamp, I made the step, as it was only about $81. As I saw that many people were on the waiting-list in December, I ordered it right away...

You want to go deep? Very deep? And indoor? (Nemo33)

They fill the "chambers" with compressed air to keep the water out. If you stand there, you can talk with a slightly higher voice :cool2:

    Temperature Oosterschelde/Grevelingen

Anyone who took the plunge lately? How is the temperature in the Oosterschelde/Grevelingen? I'm a wetsuit diver, but the weather doesn't seem to be helping this year?

    Nemo33 diving

I use my regulator, computer, mask and fins overthere. The scubatanks have an international valve. There is an adaptor in it, and they don't want to remove it. It is a nice concept. First 5 to 10 minutes snorkeling. Great to test if you can freedive to -10 m. Then a bit fooling around...

    Purchased my first BC

    - test it on air-tightness - test if your weights remain in the good position if you shake it a bit - and test if all the airdumps are working. Especially the one on your inflator-hose. I know somebody that went diving with a new jacket, and the string the inflatorhose was too long => her...

    200 vs. 300 comparing Regulators

a long question that makes it even unclear to me :) Maybe a short summary: regulators YOKE (or international) fittings on regulators are most common, but they are not safe enough to cope with the forces that are introduced by the high 300 bar pressure. DIN fittings can be made...

    hey some questions on gear

stay away from gear that is discontinued, because it will be harder to let it service. With discontinued, I mean then stop of production of the renewable parts. E.g. for a BC, you can buy an old model, but all the critical parts (dumpvalves, inflator, weight-pockets, ...) can be the same on...

    wetsuit for 58 degree waters?

Hi Here you can find some recommandations on selecting the thickness for wetsuits. For 58F, I would suggest 7mm with at least a skinsuit below it. When I select it for myself, I take a double 7mm on the chest

    What is a semi-dry suit?

The zipper of most wet-suits ends at the neck, so you won't be able to glue a neckseal there
