Thanks for all the comments everyone. I tried putting a twist in the straps yesterday, which seemed to help a bit, but one side still fell out eventually. I think I'm going to try flipping the pockets so they face upwards next time, even though that's not the way they're supposed to be...

Thanks, I'm feeling fine now. Still can't explain what happened, maybe subconsciously skip-breathing, maybe just a random, freak occurrence. Aside from that, it was a good time. I felt fine during the dive, and as a wet diver, the 17C was downright luxurious :).
