It loses connection for me every now and then. It all depends on where your arm is while diving. Did you notice what position you were in when it lost signal? Horizontal with arms out front works best for me. Do you wear the computer and the transmitter on the same side?
I am not a tech or cave diver yet but I wish I had a female mentor to help me. I was just telling my husband the other night that I feel intimidated by all of the younger than me guys and don't feel like I really fit in that world. He has no desire at all to do that type of diving. I can't see...
I didn't think to question it when I was in my class but it was 46 degrees when I was taking the class so I'd classify that as cold water! Like I said in an earlier post, it caused me to choke when it was given to me being purged so I pretty much made up my mind that I wouldn't do that unless...

Congrats on 100 dives! That is awesome!
I recently read a write up a friend did on diving in kelp that impressed me and now watching this video it really makes me want to dive out there. I've always thought it would be claustrophobic but it doesn't look like...
Is the presentation something that will be online when you are done? :-)
Navigation is something that comes so easy for me on land. I never get lost. Underwater, not so much. I just can't get the hang of a compass. I've taken classes and it has gotten better but I still feel so uncomfortable...
I was taught this in Rescue also. It did cause me to choke though when I was pretending to be the OOA diver so I'm not sure I would automatically do it if I was in that circumstance. I guess it would depend on how panicked and out of control the person was.
Riley,
I've done both snuba and discover diving in Belize. I found snuba to be frustrating for me because I wanted to go deeper than I could due to the hose. I was with my sister and she didn't like being underwater so she was hanging on to the raft. I was basically pulling her around as I was...
I just experienced this same thing. I've rented a Bare 7mm Arctic wetsuit for a year. I finally broke down and bought a new one. Same size, model, etc. The first two dives I did were a little frustrating as I didn't change my weighting or configuration at all. I had a hard time descending and...
Thanks Zac - it seems like the second battery drained quickly. It only had ~20 dives in a month on it where the other one had ~55 dives over 10 months. I'll have the shop replace it and see what happens with the 3rd. Thanks again!
Julie
I bought my Nemo Air in 8/08. It started showing a low battery in 6/09 so I took it to the dealer and they replaced it. Last weekend the low battery warning came back on. Should the batteries last longer than a few months? Is there something that is causing it to drain the battery - a setting I...
I second this. I've been to the Keys, Cayman, Cozumel and Bonaire. Cozumel is by far my favorite because drift diving is so relaxing and the reef formations are beautiful.
In scenario 1 I would surface with my buddy and then talk to them when we were back on the boat. If it happened a second time I wouldn't be diving with that person again. Diving should be fun and relaxing.
For scenario 2 it's a little harder. Neither option is a good safe one. I wouldn't...
Good one Selkie - this is something I dealt with when my husband first started diving. I held his hand throughout that dive and then we talked about it once we surfaced. He said he was more comfortable being up behind me because he could follow me better and it was easier situationally for him...
