    Casino point lockers

I stayed at the Hotel Atwater earlier this year and cannot say enough good things about them! they have plenty of storage room for gear and a rinsing area. we even left our expensive video camera in a common are by accident and one of the staff picked it up and put it in a safe place for us...

    Need Advice/Intervention

they way some of you guys talk I should have died years ago!!! I dove for probably 10 years before I was ever certified! got all of my gear at a garage sale. the "vintage" stuff no BC just a back pack and a regulator (no pressure gauge just a "J" valve) not even a depth gauge (someone else...

Tank age and Max # of Hydros

I have a tank that was first hydroed in 1950 and I still use it today. I had one shop refuse to fill it and I never went back to that shop again. their reasoning was they didn't like the 1/2 in valve. keep in mind this is the same shop that filled one of my LP steel 72's to 3000 psi because...

I just got back for a relaxing week at lake powell and just wanted to post a warning that was re-enforced during our trip. I was just swimming with the kids and heard some screams for "call 911" went to investigate and a group of "kids" had rented a boat for the day (lare amounts of ETOH was...

    The State of Diving

I was referring to being a "good enough" diver and being able to continue diving without specific training. but I do agree that the majority of people who post those are the ones who are more into continuing thier training. one reason they think more training is good. but I for one do not...

    The State of Diving

I always laugh when I read these posts that say we need more training and better training! most who posts these ( I assume) are people who think they would not need additional training. ok so we decide that as of today we need to make the rules more stringant. first who is going to determine...

    Scuba Tanks vs. Heat???

definately do not leave in car. I have personal experiance with leaving a full tank in the car (in phoenix az temps in shade run 110's in summer) and burst disk ruptured. no harm done but had to have valve rebuilt (was time anyway) but a hassle none the less. and I do keep them in the garage...

Merged: Liability Releases - shop sued diver's death, Catalina Island 2005

I agree that there needs to be some way for the guy being sued to recoup his cost. something like a loser pays all fees, because if the plaintiff wins the defendant pays the fees anyway, but when a defendant "wins" he still loses due to the lawyer costs! so there needs to be a way of recoping...

AIR2 or similar, whats your experiences?

I have a AIR 2 and love it. it is just like the spare tire thing! not ment for long distances just enough to get you back to where you have to be! does it flow as nice as my full balanced primary NO! but neither does my octo! ( I carry both because of some of the ugly conditions I dive in)...

Invasive quagga mussel found in Utah reservoir

the quagga is a bitter sweet deal. it is horrible for most every part of the lake except for diving. they are a filter feeder so they filter all of the stuff out of the water making visibility AWESOME(for lakes). hopefully they can keep this contained before it spreads to any other lakes. I...

    diving in lake pleasant, az

I have been diving there a few times and the water clarity was surprisingly clear (supposedly due to the quagga muscle) and the water temp is quite warm also.

What is your biggest Fear in diving?

I guess my biggest fear would be having an incident / accident that didn't kill me but left me a vegatable, unable to do anything but be a drain on everyone around me (my family especailly) and yet still be conscious of the situation. I used to be afraid of death till I watched my mother suffer...
