    Suunto Cobra PC Interface issue

Had the same problem with the USB interface from Germany. Windows vista automatically loads the Suunto driver, you have to get rid of this and load the driver that comes on the disc supplied with the interface. Seems like you had a different problem though.

    Cobra 3 PC Interface

I have used the Serial cobra 2 cable with my Cobra 3 and all worked well. Suunto however claim that the 3 is supposed to only work with the USB version of the cable. I think it has more to do with the software, I can't get it to work with DM3.0 but it works with DM 2.7. no great loss as I'm not...

Questions about The Suunto Cobra 3

I have never heard my Cobra 3 alarm underwater, maybe it hasn't alarmed yet!? In the early days of dive computers, it was crazy underwater with 10 or more alarms going at once, loud and intrusive, usually on ascent or safety stop, and you were never certain whose alarm it was anyway. I have...

    DIN O-Rings

Just a comment, o-rings at the yoke or din connection are static and high pressure, therefore should not be greased, and should be of 90 duro. A good source of all 0-rings is AOP Tech O-rings Online Frameset.

Where is the best dive site in The Whitsundays?

Hi reaver, I just had one dive there, and it was round the corner at the snorkel beach!! Asked them about a better site, and they were talking whole day trip to the reef, or helicopter to the reef. I would suggest you pin them down as to what dives are available and where. It was a pretty...

    Smart Com vs Cobra 2

I use the Cobra 3, the nice thing about the digital compass is that you can recalibrate it when you move to different compass zones. The compass on the 3 is far superior to the original cobra and cobra2 and works at a tilt of 45 degrees. For these reasons, the any zone capability and the...

    Suunto

The Vyper Air is no doubt the most appropriate choice. It would seem that the only reason to buy the HelO2 is if you intend using trimix. I would hope that's a long time in the future, and by then there will be better and cheaper trimix computers. Also if you're serious about trimix then you're...

Where is the best dive site in The Whitsundays?

I spent a week at Heron Island, southern most part, had reasonably good diving. Went to Hayman Island, just next door to Hamilton Island, and the dive was awful, as has already been said the real dives are from live aboards on the outer reef, even day trips out of Port Douglas are pretty ordinary.

    Opinions of Maldives???

Did a trip to the Maldives some 10 years ago. Still dream of it. Stayed on a small island, Alimatha, less than 12 divers on the island at that time, and had the most spectacular dives, like diving into an aquarium Wall to 2000 meters, 50 meter viz, pristine reefs, the pattern was pretty standard...

    Magnifier Lenses for Mask

I have been using them for a few months. Quite a pia to stick on, kind of have to keep pushing down over a day or 2 while it dries out. So far have remained in place, but every time I use the mask have to push lens down again to remove air from the edges. I think I will use them for a while...

    Dive Software

You can download DM 3 from the Suunto web site, and manually add dives until you get a computer. I'm happy with the Suunto software, but haven't tried anything else. Download a few programs, try them out and choose the one you like. Cheers PS don't buy anything that doesn't have a user...

    Watson Murder Case - Discussion

There is no question that the best place in the world to be tried is Oz, even if you are found guilty the penalty is minimal, and the gaol conditions better than most. That is guilty of a crime of passion like murder, heaven help you if you steal, then they throw away the keys!!!:D I think...

    Watson Murder Case - Discussion

Just maybe, maybe, maybe, he is innocent, but has as much faith in the law as I have. In a foreign country which has already found him guilty of murder in the press, informal media, and in the coronial report, he probably doesn't fancy his chances in a trial. The safest way out may be what he is...

    Scubapro Warranty and Overseas Dealers

Also look at Lucas dive store in Holland, on some things they beat the price of Scubastore. the goods generally arrive in 4 or 5 days, very efficient. It does not matter too much about the warrantee, in the unlikely event of a claim under warrantee, the worst case scenario is you post it back to...

Please tell me your personal experiences w/buying ScubaPro regs at LeisurePro?

This free parts for life is another rip off. Regs generally don't need that frequent servicing, and if you miss a service you're back to square one. Throw your reg away after 3 years and buy a new one from LP and you'll be ahead of the game. Analysis by offthewall1 puts the case very well...
