After reviewing a few models - I like the suunto line (although I don't think I would go with the D9) but I checked out Oceanic's site - they have e-diving that looks pretty cool also..

You can download DM 3 from the Suunto web site, and manually add dives until you get a computer. I'm happy with the Suunto software, but haven't tried anything else. Download a few programs, try them out and choose the one you like.

PS don't buy anything that doesn't have a user replaceable battery. If you want a watch, buy one, and if you want a dive computer, buy one, a mixture of both is bound to not function optimally as either.

1)Back light (for deep and night dives)
2)User replaceable batteries.

go easy on the backlight. I reserve it's use for emergencies. In speaking to a tech support guy, he told me that the (I think he said voltage) draw on the battery goes up many, many times higher when the light is used. you should have your dive light on at night anyway.
