BP/W Harness - Keeper or No Keeper?

I used the sleeves when I first got my DR plate but every 5 or so dives I had to pull webbing back into the arms from the belt. After I switched to the keepers I have not had to make any changes and have not seen any additional wear on the webbing. Joe

    Talc Tip

How does that work? Your old socks will destroy anything on contact. I'm surprised federal law doesn't require something more substantial than a ziploc baggie. :mooner: Joe

    Weight issue

If you are properly weighted you will be heavy at the beginning by about 4 to 6 pounds and will end the dive neutral. If you are sinking like a rock, don't let out so much air from the BC. Only vent enough that you start to sink when you exhale. Joe

    Tank strap technology

Not true at all. Loosely connect the clamp to the D-ring around the tank, pull the free end of the strap slightly snug and lever the clamp closed. All done. No need to wet the strap. No need to memorize how to thread the blasted cam buckle. I can take off a 72 and put on a 95 in about 5...

    NAUI Nitrox - Bummed

If an instructor fails to follow standards and someone gets hurt then the agency is in the clear because they set rules that were not followed. This seems to be the case here except for the injury. A bit different, but if the standards are what lead to the injury then the agency would be...

    Chatterton email on Movie

Richie made that same joke when I talked to them at a show earlier this year. As he was signing a poster for me I told him Danny was too good looking for the part. Richie looks at me and asks, "How many S's is smart@ss?" :D Joe

    NAUI Nitrox - Bummed

The paperwork would have only consisted of a waiver/medical release. There would have been nothing stating an age requirement. The OP would have no reason to question a minimum age unless he knew ahead of time there was one and he wasn't given any reason to believe there was until the agency...

    Undergarmet fitting Question

Be sure to try it on with the suit. You do not want to limit your mobility. Besides, it isn't a fashion show. The objective is to stay warm. Now if there is so much extra material that it is causing mobility problems that's a different thing. Also, depending on where you will be diving...

    NAUI Nitrox - Bummed

Because they are the ones that made the mistake. If he took a class then there was a student folder that included age and date of birth. If the instructor or shop assumed anything of the sort they were blatantly wrong. NAUI does not publicly publish its standards. Every instructor on the...

    Padi To Naui Crossover

I disagree with that. Where are we supposed to be leading these 2 students on their excursions if not at OW? Read that standard again, I will as well, but if I remember correctly the description of what a TA can do is almost identical to an AI except for ratios. I remember nothing at all...

    BoyaControlncy

Sounds right to me. I only see them saying to perform the buoyancy check with an empty BC. I don't see any mention of doing actual descents by totally dumping the BC. Exactly. Being NAUI, PADI doesn't listen to me very often. ;) Again, there's a difference in a buoyancy check and actual...
