Budget place to stay in Playa del Carmen

We may be headed down to Cozumel in December and may fly into and out of Cancun. Would like to spend the last couple of nights in Playa or near there. (A little north or south is OK) Probably will vist ruins one day and just hang out the other day.

Can someone reccomend a reasonably priced place to stay?

Check out Hotels Playa del Carmen. We just stayed at the Viva Wyndham Maya in Playacar. It's an All-Inclusive and was very reasonably priced.

I stayed at casa del copala for a week; reasonable, clean and good A/C. This hotal is loosly associated with Yuchatec (sp?) Divers. I also had a very good experience with the dive shop. Highly recommned.

Mom's hotel which is also home to www.protecplaya.com has quite reasonable rates as well as in house cave guides, air fills and full service dive shop.

We stayed at La Tortuga a couple of years ago, and liked it. But you didn't really say what you are looking for...

Try Hotel Cielo and ask for Henrick ( http://www.hotelcielo.com/ )or La Tortuga and ask for Anna ( http://www.hotellatortuga.com/ ). I love these two hotels. They are beautifully decorated and not too pricey. Tell them I sent you!

My wife and I also stayed at Casa De Gopala and liked it. I think it was $40 a night. There are quite a few small hotels in the same price range in Playa.
