Coming up on a month away from the 2 year anniversary of Rob tearing apart his Rix. The audience needs to know - did he ever get it back together? :)
That's so sad. No.. the parts have moved around the shop a few times but haven't made the final move into the machine. Every time I think I'm getting to have some spare time, something comes up.

That something is usually my granddaughter, and I don't have any regrets. Plus, my friend has been bringing me air when I really need it.. and I can always stop out your place!!

My excuse;

I know that feeling too but you better hurry up. The new British 4 stage design for the old retired SA-3 is progressing quite well.

The focus group employed on the project and responsible for International sales and marketing came up with new product number designates for the new product designs.

After much deliberation they came up with two popular options...........

The SA-D for the diesel version but the most popular name by far was for the newly designed SE version for an Electric Battery driven SE version to be called the SE-X

Just Sayin.....:rolleyes:

They kind of didn't like the original name of GXE-2.0H as it sounded too much like an oil brand for the 2Kw class brushless motor at 3600 RPM and matching with the frame footprint and frame slots off the Honda GX petrol engine but the silicone potted power drive unit they liked due to the high IP ingress protection against water. Nett output 1.8Kw with a 4.8Nm torque (that's 2.4BHP and 3.5ft/Ibs to you lot) and its BHP British Horse power (not HP as that's the name for a sauce).

The power controller is capable of 80 Amps at 70 volts but soft starting is a preferred consideration. The battery type and configuration is using standard industrial Li-on 18650 type cells with a 750Wh capacity. Suitable for a drive belt and pulley power train not direct drive but with both the driven and driver pulley identical to the original discontinued SA range :rolleyes:

For Yacht users unlike the oil lubricated alternatives typically used on yachts (Coltri/Bauer) the orientation and 5 degree angle is irrelevant but better to lash it down in case it slides off the deck in rough weather. Anything over 50 degrees and you might with to consider your seamanship skills rather than you filling

Further the RPM being proportional the flow is hugely variable on an oil less compressor unlike an oil lubricated compressor with a sloshing oil sump or starving an oil pump. The lower RPM also increases the battery life but increased the charging time while the recharge time is commensurate with the power supply or generator to the charger or the level of sunlight.

That's going to be really good when a whole compressor unit comes available for sale.

I'm not sure why I'm not getting notifications. We were camping without the best service (which is fine by me!).

@iain/hsm what would retail be on one of those? Really interesting.

So are you saying older parts won't be available when the newer model comes out? Notthat I need them, I think I'm set. I picked up a spare 3rd stage piston. I "think" I'm good for a long time.

You should be good for a long time since the parts you have won't wear out sitting on a shelf lol
