I learn something from every one of your videos. Sometimes its just the visibility which is very important to us divers to make a Go-NoGo decision for driving a couple of hours away. Other times I learn about new fish or crowd levels for parking.
Thank you @BoltSnap, @Johnoly, and @Divin'Papaw for your kind words. One of the things I find perplexing about Scubaboard is why so few people write dive reports. Seems like there are lots of discussions about everything peripheral to the actual dives that people do. And unfortunately a lot of acrimony along the way. I notice this thread, Palm Beach Dive Thread, Pompano Dive Thread, and Jupiter Dive Thread all seem to be happy places because there is nothing but discussion about the dives and what was observed. Below is a video on conditions today at Blue Heron Bridge, I think improved from last night.
I made a fish quiz video. It has ten benthic species (species that do not leave the bottom). Some are easily recognizable some are not. Please take the quiz and see how you do. The answers contain the species, and the occurrence data for Tropical Western Atlantic, Jupiter to Key Biscayne, and BHB as a stand alone. Mostly BHB is where the highest occurrence, with two exceptions. Let me know how you did.
Going to make a whole bunch more of these and other good videos for the youtube channel as well.
Nice quiz!! THANK YOU for not starting with the obvious easy ones.. French Angel, porkfish...
May I suggest you moving the text to another spot, and changing it to black, and bold ? Maybe with a light box of 50% white behind to make it easier to read?
Great start!
I got lucky. I did better than I had a right to just because you picked several things that I happen to be a little familiar with. My IDs were not as focused as yours. I recognize a sea robin, but not a specific type. Same for things like files, gobys, frogs etc. ...and I thought it was two types of frogs & not a bat. I thought that the ray might have been a guitar fish, but I had my doubts because it didn't look quite right.
I'm pretty good with the ID on game fish that I land on a boat, but the others, still swimming, are more of a mystery for me. Thank you for helping to fill that void in my knowledge base. You are an appreciated resource. ...and I need all the help I can get in that department.
I got 1 full name correct answer. But I was doing alot better than that drunken fish at the end of the quiz that couldn't even stand up on his own . Many many thanks for teaching us readers the proper names for fish we might see. The quiz was alot of fun!!.

The Flying Gunard was easy for me cause I've seen them alot. But the last one> Dwarf Frogfish that was stumbling and falling over drunk was really in need of a taxi ride home !!
