How realistic is it to get 3000 hours out of a Coltri MCH-6?

Are we polling for how long people's MCH-6 have lasted, or is it just a lol post?

As an engineer if you were tasked to design a new full design from scratch breathing air compressor with the additional critical additional requirement of its suitability for a scuba diving application then the partial pressure at depth in say the 30-50 MSW range would be a major consideration in todays market.
The last things on your engineering list of design criteria requirement and consideration would be if the high pressure hose would last 3000 hours or not.
The application of a Parker 520N-03 high pressure hose would be more than adequate for the requirement.
Albeit the video although I have not been able to see it on You Tube is a red herring to deflect the innocent yet ill informed potential customer by subliminal implication that the compressor is capable of this level of performance.
That is not to say that there are no 20 year old Coltri compressors around just not that many and all have been used very lightly and it is interesting that the video creates IMHO a mental suggestion of 3000 hours equating to life expectancy. Which when you consider that at the same 3000 hour interval you also need to replace the filter tower and the separator tower.
But and the kicker is that the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th stage valves will need replacing for the sixth time at 500 hours each and also the 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th stage rings also will be replace also for the sixth time at 500 hours.
Now I guess you know why it's a popular compressor with repair guys and the dive shop who sell you this stuff. But non of this is the real problem ignorance is bliss I guess. Iain
Years ago I got about 25 from mine. Thank god UPS lost that thing in transit and I had it fully insured.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You have a problem: You need a compressor. Now you have a coltri. You have two problems.
This is why I bought an MCH6, used it for 7 hours, quickly realised the problem, sold it, and then bought a LOW RPM IK12.14 Block Jordair compressor (Basically basuer mariners).
