Given that it is anonymous, I have no clue why someone would fabricate their results. I believe you may also be seeing the fact that ScubaBoard has a much higher percentage of very active divers than the diving community as a whole.
Several people have pointed out that this poll does not represent average divers. There are several caveats considering this poll is on ScubaBoard. All of the divers who have voted in the poll are SB members, know what RMV is and have calculated their values, and read this thread before deciding to vote. The results of this poll represent the participants.

Exactly! I'm sure is skews to the left of divers at large. But I still think it has been a very valuable poll and living thread.

Why would anyone fabricate results anyway?

The median, mode, and weighted average remain 0.5-0.59 cu ft/min or 14.2-16.9 l/min.

If you have not voted in the poll, please consider doing so. If your average RMV has changed, please change your vote.

Great diving

My Teric shows 1 bar/min average. 0,8 bar/min at night dive, hovering over the bottom. 1.2 bar.min when swimming against current.

Hi @Dan

Our Terics display SAC in pressure/time (bar/min or psi/min) rather than RMV in volume/min (liters/min or cu ft/min)

Imperial SAC is converted to RMV by multiplying by the tank factor in cu ft/psi (77.4/3000 for an AL80}

Metric SAC is easily converted to RMV by multiplying by the tank size in L/bar (10 for a 10 L cylinder)

So, your average RMV is 10 L/min with a 10 L cylinder or 11.1 L/min with an AL80 (11.1 L). Are you already represented in the poll?

You, and others, probably know that the average recorded and calculated SAC for each dive is included with the gases summary in the Shearwater Cloud
