We had that issue a few years back, and it turns out the problem comes up when Cayman Air tries to adjust the flight times. If for some reason they cancel the old flight before they create the new one in their system, when the old flight is cancelled, it automatically rebooks on another flight, with no regard for what the rest of your itinerary looks like. But when you look at their flights after you get the notice, there is a flight available not too far different from where you were originally booked. We just had to call them to get put back onto the other flight. At the time it happened to us, they were having otter problems and were cancelling the direct flights to and from GC-LC, and instead were using one otter to fly people back and forth between LC-CB and putting all the trips to GC onto the Saab from CB.
 
LC runway is too short for the Saabs.
Flying into LC has never been without possible issues. But, LCBR added to the issues when they began to require weekend day to weekend day reservations. Previously, there was always a scattering of weekday to weekday reservations, which took some of the pressure off of the weekend Twin Otter flights.

FWIW, they still allow bookings other than Sat-Sat. You just have to let them know that the available GC-LC flights on saturday for your dates don't work with your flight coming into GC. For us, we come down from Houston on the United non-stop that gets in around 3:45pm. So, the only flight we can get to LC on is the last one of the day and always the first to book up.
 
Otters? I thought they had a pair of Saabs?

Can anyone provide current info on which planes are available and actually used?
According to Wiki, they have two Twin Otters, two Saabs, and 4 737 Max 8s. The otters are the only ones that can fly into LC, so if one of them goes down for any length of time, it can cause them real problems. When that happens, they usually try to route everybody to Brac either on the Saabs or the 737, and then they use the one Otter left to ferry from Brac to LC.
 
Been there. Last spring we were flown to Brac by 727 and then to LC by Otter. Seemed weird at the time but now I understand.
