I've been doing double stage dives for the past few weeks. My thoughts.

Yes the long hose is donateable, you just need to make sure you route the hose above the D-ring.

I have a hard enough time getting to my inflator with just two. That would be really hard with four.

You are going to be positive as heck at the end of the dive, you probably have at least 10lbs extra positive buoyancy at the end of the dive. I avoid diving with extra lead, and I feel a bit light when carrying two stages at the end of the dive. Heck I've been a bit light with one stage when I forgot about what about below the halocline.

That is a lot of drag. When I go slick dropping my stages it is a night and day difference.

You guys just dont get it- its like the fashion weeks or wearable art -its not meant to be practical or situational -its about posturing. Have you check out the myriad of sidemount specialists that have subscription based podcasts so you can listen to someone talk about what coloured stitching they prefer on their harness - One vid I watched once had an heading "extreme sidemount" which piqued my interest only to find it was a penetration dive that most of us would do a shake down dive on.
yes theyve got great skills but demonstrating those skills has become the end goal, the dive itself is secondary

Someone could track the guy down and ask him.

Exactly where can we see the video of the actual dive where it was necessary to carry those tank. That's what I'd love to see. It's very hard to find good exploratory diving video. Divers in new wrecks, caves or rivers and lakes. I'd rather see people rooting around in their local pond to see what's on the bottom. Has diving become posing more than exploring.

This falls under the term I coined about 8 years ago in regards to cave divers and especially instructors who’s sole intent is to be internet famous and look cool rather than actually going out and doing worthwhile dives. The term is Kave Kardashians. I came up with it for one particular group of instructors locally who care more about making their fb feed look like they’re on crazy adventures when they’re not. A good example is staging a photo to look like they’re in the thick of the jungle or swamp trying to push a cave when in reality they’re actually at a tourist cave many many people visit that has a walkway and benches. Funny how stepping off the path and taking a photo next to shrubs can look adventurous on the internets.

You won’t see one cause there isn’t one. Definitely all posturing

@rddvet I don't even think the dude is cave trained. I visited his instagram, I don't see any cave photos. Mostly Indo-Pacific OW or a deep quarry in the UK.

You guys hit the nail on the head. Today's crop of young divers are no different than their above-water peers. I loved that meme about Neil Armstrong going to the moon and taking something like 5 photos and some Kardashian wanna-be going to the bathroom and taking more than 100 selfies.
