A VPN easily beats that, but really? Only someone trying to crap on the board uses one. Although some use them to avoid ads as well. I do in some situations.

A bit OT, but actually I use a VPN quite often. It's just another way to reduce one's attack surface area. I just don't happen to be using one now because I checked email and my SMTP provider won't allow me to retrieve messages when it's turned on. I rarely, if ever, crap on this board or any other. At least, not on purpose...

If we banned all the people who said something(s) stupid, we'd have a much smaller group.

An occasional twatwaffle happens. However when one only twatwaffles, then a ban is appropriate.

The ignore function is insufficient as while I understand why some good contributors wish to counter twatwaffle comments, I cannot ignore them for that as I appreciate their contributions to this board.

OK, now I really feel old.

After looking up twatwaffle, I browsed the Urban Dictionary for a few minutes.

I think I could piece out or guess the approximate meaning of a higher percentage of words in the lexicon for any foreign language using our alphabet than I could in the Urban Dictionary.

Maybe those youngsters with their faces stuck in their smart phones aren't all goofing off. At least some of them seem to be collaborating on some pretty clever projects.

FYI Anyone who thinks that the boards are wild and out-of-control has obviously not read the threads with RossH vs Simon the Kiwi or Andy Davis and DanV against the world. Dem was da days!

I wasn't privy to the battles that got Andy Davis banned, but as for providing value, I think he provided quite a bit and I was sad to see him go.

The same cannot be said for the instant twatwaffle, who has provided zero value.

That being said, can we invite Andy back and trade him for the twatwaffle? I'd much rather be on that version of SB.

Sadly, Andy’s fatal mistake, a comment made in the heat of the moment, was permanently fatal. I think everyone probably regrets that comment.
