I am trying to figure out the Lighting Spring tunnel route to July Spring.

I've done the "Manhole" route which involves going doing a crack in the ground fifty to hundred feet past the bypass exit.

I've read some descriptions, but no video which doesn't help. It says the entrance is at the exit from the bypass tunnels, and it is a sidemount/small backmount tunnel.

So I ran a reel peeking around that area, I found a route that appears to be well traveling, but it looks more of a tight sidemount restriction than a small BM tunnel. I didn't enter as I don't go through tight stuff alone.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Man it’s been years since I’ve been there, but I recall it being a fairly obvious jump right past the tie in for parallel lines tunnel off h400.

Does that sound right? We made it fairly clean in BM all the way up to where it shallows up at July. Staunch siphon.

What he said. Jump off h400 and veer to your left just past the jump to the parallel lines then right, then July Springs goes up while getting narrower quickly. The rocks are pretty black back there.

I was told that there was an entrance to that tunnel from the mainline, here is what I read:
If you have taken the time to truly get to know the first 500 feet of the Devil’s system, then you have probably used a primary reel to explore the route from the end of the Keyhole Bypass to the July Spring tunnel by way of the Lightning Spring passageway. Smaller divers in backmount might be able to do this, but it’s far more comfortable just using sidemount.

So that area has a bunch of swiss cheese holes all over. Many are very small, like Fluffy Bunny small, or get very small as you go. It's a great area to get stuck in so be very careful and mindful if you are gonna poke around a bit.

Getting stuck is something I want to avoid. Which is why I try to ask about routes first.
