3 years probation in addition to the 57 months in jail or 3 years probation and if violated goes into prison for 57 months?

So from my Google reading, Federal time is very strict relative to states, parole is unlikely and only small credit for good behavior during incarceration - a maximum of 15%. Assuming good behavior then he is facing ~48 months of incarceration PLUS another 36 months of supervised release during which if terms of release are violated then he would be re-incarcerated for the remainder of the 36 month supervised release period.

At first glance, it seems possible he would serve more time for this crime than he did for armed robbery.

In the federal system, there is no parole. So it should be jail, followed by three years probation, during which, if he violates his terms of release, he would go back to prison for the duration of his sentence.

Wow, that is brutal. And for how much $$$? Nothing is worth this much time in jail.
