With the screen off a Teric should lose no more than 5-10% a week. If you lose more than that contact Shearwater for a battery replacement, there was a known batch of bad batteries.

Also it’s begs the question that say I’m on a average two tank dive where it’s on my wrist and on ( not in dive mode)from 7am to 1pm. And about 2 hours of OC REC diving (dive mode) the battery will drop to around 65%. Is that normal or should I be sending it back. I’ve owned it for just under a year now

Not normal.

I did about 3 hrs of dives 10 days ago, AI on, no compass. Started at 100%. It was at 92% after the dive day, and now is at 88%.

I'm on battery #2 so I pay close attention.

Hmm well few I mean like 5 days of none use it dies. That’s bad?
Very bad! Many of us have had Teric batteries replaced (and other related electronics) - some more than once. Your Teric appears to have a severe case of this battery drain issue.

Call Shearwater and they’ll have you send it to the US service center (Dive-Tronix) and they’ll get this fixed for you!

so guys and gals. just came back from a 6 day vacation and from 100% i came home to the teric at 14%. i am taking it to the dive shop within the next few days, i called them and they are handling all of the fees and what not so i dont mind if it takes a bit longer to get back to me. thank you all for your input

I charged my Teric to 100% on Sept 13 - just checked it today and it’s at 74%. That seems much higher drain than what I had seen before I used it on my last dive trip in early July.

I’ll have to keep any eye on it to see if it gets worse. This unit was previously rebuilt at DiveTronix for the battery drain issue. My brother in law has also had his Teric back twice for battery drain issues as well.

Mine was fine for a while but then after I got back from my last trip in June it started dropping about 3% a day (powered completely off). After sending it back in for service (battery replacement) it is now dropping about 2-3% per week.

Battery Care

Lithium-ion batteries, such as the one in the Teric, can be damaged if completely discharged. The Teric has internal protection which disconnects the battery before complete discharge occurs. However, a small amount of self-discharge still occurs, which can lead to complete discharge and subsequently battery damage if stored for long periods without recharging.

To prevent damage to the battery please do the following: 1) Fully charge the Teric prior to storage 2) Top up the Teric battery every 6 months

I never let mine get below 40% before topping it off.
