Did a Sunday dive at Old Garden Beach on July 25, 2021. Several Stripers, skates, flounder, moon snails seen. I haven't come across a moon snail attacking a quahog before and that was pretty interesting. Winds out of the SSW closed down most of the surrounding dive sites, so this was our best choice.

I know Jamestown an Newport would be significantly warmer (I usually ditch my hood and gloves by this time of year), but I haven’t seen conditions any where near this good down in RI IN July. I am regretting that my Henderson wetsuit is only a 5mm and not a 7. Even so, they extra time in the car has been worth it. I am getting spoiled. I haven’t even got hooked by a fisherman since starting with Cape Ann…

I'm shocked you did a 58 degree dive for almost an hour in a 5mm wetsuit, and then did it again for another hour. Maybe I run cold, but all of my OGB dives have been in a drysuit. Brrr...

The water temp bottomed out in the fifties. But that was at depths below 30 or 40’. Early and late portion of the dive are in much milder waters…

Got to love the Cape Ann you can almost always count on 10' vis min and 20' a lot, until the north winds come.
