Received an email today from Reef Divers that they are opening up a location on South Caicos. They state that they are still dedicated to the Caymans and their operations there.

Sounds like they would like to expand their operations to include someplace that is a bit more flexible than the Cayman government. While I usually use a different dive op, I have used them in the past and know that they have some good people working for them. Wish them all the best!

It will be a first-class operation like all of their resorts. Looking forward to another option other than Provo.

Meanwhile, I just got back from 10 days in Aruba with some great diving. COVID is very much under control there with smart policies that still allow tourism.

Honestly, between the lack of any opening plans and the spread of Stony Coral disease, the Caymans are starting to lose their appeal to me and being replaced with other destinations. I saw significant bleaching of Brain Corals in Cayman Brac in Nov 2019 and fish life on the reefs I’ve found lacking of late (Aruba reefs had no bleaching (less dramatic topography - but pretty healthy) and far more fish life). I’ll plan on hitting the new Reef Divers South Caicos operation for sure!

Looking forward to that report. I scanned East Bay website yesterday and could not find an AI Diving inclusive package. Curious as to how you packaged diving and at what price.

Between Cayman continued closure and Stony Coral Disease, S Caicos looks interesting, particularly if Reef Divers runs the dive op. Their GC, Brac and LC ops are fantastic.

All bookings through Clearly Cayman. They own it now. They moved 4 boats there from Cayman.

Is there any shore diving from the new resort?
