Regarding VeriFLY, setting up the account was simple but then I had trouble finding how to complete the profile for myself and Eric. Once I did that the rest of the process went easily. I entered the step by step process and test results and it was certified shortly after. Helped bypass some airport hassles. For me it was worth the bit of time and aggravation to set up.

As I recall another key step is telling the app you have a trip planned to the US then it walks you through the process.

You can always just check in at the ticket counter in the airport, can't you?

We've come back twice since the rule and haven't used the app. Just showing them a printout or the email on your phone only takes a few seconds and is actually less work.

Same with the health questionnaire. We scanned the QR code and filled it out but at the security line it's much faster to just hand them a piece of paper than trying to pull up and scan the phone code.

One thing it did for our return is place us in the MUCH shorter line to check in but unknown if true of all airports/airlines. And I much prefer completing the info sitting on the balcony enjoying the view then standing in line at the airport.

Good thing both options are available.:)

I don't believe the VeriFLY app is mandatory, at least we have used it for our trips. I've been to Coz twice (American) & Baja once (Alaska) since the rule and found that the printout was less hassle. Didn't have luck when I tried the VeriFLY app when it was first released, maybe I'll give it another shot next trip.

I did have a QR code for the health questionnaire and it was scanned once but I always have a paper copy and is usually easier.

Just got back from Cozumel, flew back AA out of CZM. I didn't do the Verifly app. Just showed up, got in line to show my covid test results (printed out by International Hospital, cost for antigen test $32 US) then sign a form attesting to results.

Then over to check in line for AA, my checked bag weighed 49.5 pounds (Yeah, just under). Several other people were 1-2 pounds over which would be $104 US extra. So these several people took one fin out of their checked bag and strapped it to their carry on roller bag. I don't think this would work other places but in CZM nobody seemed to care. I don't think they really want to irritate the tourists who are helping their economy.

Then fill out a health questionnaire (simple) before going through security and handing it to the security guy.

Very stress free process.

You have no idea what you’re talking about . When check is attempted to American Airlines the passenger is directed to use the verify app . It takes hours for process to complete. No choice if you want to check in. Likely the same with other airlines

See my post above yours. I did not use verifly app and no AA employee asked me to use it. I flew back 2 days ago.

That's on line check in, right? Can you not just check in when you get to the airport?
