Orcatorch lights

Randomly came across these backup style lights on LED Back-Up Lights Products Piranha Dive Shop |

Not really in the market for one but they sparked my interest and I was curious if anyone has any experience with them; quality, lum output, burn time, durability etc.? I am assuming they are similar to the Xtar lights but these seems to be a little bit of a step up.

Which one (out of about 35 different lights) are you referring to?

I have a small handful of orcatorch d550 and d530 lights. I think they work quite well. I had an issue with one of the D550s and orca torch was very responsive in replacing it and after receiving the replacement I was able to fix the issue with the one that did not work. I dive with them as both primary and back up as does my wife. The quality is great for the price...and for the price I highly recommend them.

XTAR sent me a small rotating switch torch to try. I have not had any time to dive and review it as of yet but it appears to be very similar in build quality to OrcaTorch.

For the price, I don't think one can go wrong with either brand...and I beleive they are making the torches for some of the other more well known dive industry brands sold at a higher price.

I have a small orcatourch that is low power and great for snooping around in tropical water during a day dive (just poking around under overhangs, etc), as well as night dives. Interestingly, the last 2 black star lights on that page look like rebranded orcatourch lights, or vise-versa.

One of the benefits of this arrangement (to the customer) is that if there are ever any issues, you will be deal with me and my staff, and you can be assured things will be handled to your satisfaction. Also we generally have same day shipping from our domestic facility (in Fredericksburg Virginia).

Our 1000 lumen light has been GREAT.

Your product description indicates the torch comes with a spare tail switch...is this correct?

If so is this available as a separate item? Have you had folks experience the need to replace the magnet switch button? It seems well sealed in plasitc so as not to degrade like the magnets in rotating switches.

We don't sell the switch by itself. The manufacturer offers a package with the spare O-ring and switch, so we offer that as well. We have seen very few problems with these lights.

Mostly looking at this one Holiday Special Orcatorch D710 3000 Lumen Dive Light Kit! Includes a 5 Liter Orcatorch Drybag! , Piranha Dive Shop | and this one Holiday Special Orcatorch 1700 Lumens Dive Light * Special includes a 5 liter dry bag! , Piranha Dive Shop | Also for only $50 the lasers seem like they could be fun/handy for pointing stuff out if you guiding.

The lasers are super fun, there are some little bottom dweller fish that just love to follow it along like cats. I have been using many of the Orca lights for several years now, always been happy with them and when there has been an issue they have been replaced PDQ.

I have the orcatorch d550 and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately I haven't had many chances for night dives since I got it, but it ran just fine for a 45 minute night dive during a course (less than 40 feet deep).

I don't know if I was "that person" with the ultra bright light annoying everyone else, but it was very easy to see and navigate with my light compared to the instructor and the other student's light. It was also apparently very easy to see when I started signalling "HELP TROUBLE" when my weight belt came loose and I almost popped to the surface.

I'm hoping to have more chances to test it out (ideally without weight belt issues this time) but it seems a pretty good and relatively inexpensive light
