Trust is earned, demonstrated and consistent.

Transmitters have accomplished this IMO.
Totally agree. I was hesitant at first. My first DC was an AI console. Mainly because I didn’t trust the transmitters. Not from personal experience, more from some others having connection issues. Not sure which brand of DCs and transmitters they were using, though.

My PPS transmitter has been reliable for the past 8 years or so.

I really hate these AI threads because they make want to spend $1k on a Shearwater.
Yeah, I know what you mean. These threads get a lot better after you’ve dropped the cash on the Shearwater.

I’m hoping that Shearwater will soon release another AI model and that the price of the Perdix will drop.

The connection issues were mainly with the first Suunto AI computer, if they lost the connection underwater you had to come back to the surface to re pair the computer. Any other AI computer will regain the signal as soon as they are back within range or whatever was blocking the signal stops.

Most foreigners dive the Great Barrier Reef. With an OW course thrown in.

Yes but I did BSAC in Brunei and more PADI courses in Philippines. The instructors were from the UK or Germany.

The main reason that I will be switching to Scubapro instead of Shearwater in the next year is the lack of support for more than 2 transmitters.
Shearwater DC's support 4 transmtters. Not sure how long ago the updated firmware was released.
