Came across this old Dive Rite 1st stage for a decent price recently. Condition is so good that I wonder if it was ever even used. But I can't quite tell what the model is. Can anyone assist? And if possible provide me with any info about it or at least a link to a source. Ignore the mini gauge; that just came with it.

Much appreciated.

Hi
RG 1208 if i remember correctly.
Good membrane first stage. Easy to service.
You cannot go wrong is the price is good:)

I have that one as my DECO stage. Packaged as the RG3ICE

That one isn't even that "old," it's got the fifth port on the end of the turret...and the internals of this style diaphragm regulator haven't changed significantly in a long time. Super easy to service. This version is not environmentally sealed, which means water sand and salt will get right up on top of the diaphragm. Not really a problem at all unless you are ice diving, but if you are in sand or salt you will want to do a really good rinse to keep it from getting grody inside. I don't think it will impact the lifespan of a service kit in a meaningful way, but it's part of taking care of your gear and makes servicing easier. Great regulator, can't go wrong with it.

But check the date stamp on the end of that hose when it gets in. After having a LP hose crumble at 7 years, I've put a strict 4 year limit on all of my non rubber hoses.

This is an internal close up photo of an unsealed 1208 I recently serviced. They stay wet inside well after they are put away. The small metal disk in mine was pitted, but nothing critical. Vinegar and ultrasonic cleaner took care of it. I put the environmental seal kit on this reg, mainly so it would match my other sealed unit.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but does anyone know if the 4 port versions (RG1208ICE-2 I believe) of these can be retrofitted to 5 port (RG1208ICE-5)? If I am reading the schematics correctly I would just need a RG1281-5P to replace the turret retainer.
