Reviving this thread as I am encountering this issue with my 4 G250V's from @buddhasummer. The issue I am facing is not that I don't have the SP tool (I actually have 2), but you can't hold on to the jam nut with the SP tool and tighten the non-splined hose with a wrench. I really don't want to grab onto the jam nut with a pair of channel-locks. Yes, I realize padding, like black electrical tape, will help protect it, but still.

Is the solution to get the Halcyon Halo nut? Closest Halcyon dealer is about an hour away in Boulder, CO, so I wanted to check here first.

@couv @rsingler ?

Sounds terrible.

(Just playing)

There were several shops (including on the "auction site") carrying it when I got mine, but it seems at least the manufacturer still has it. There is a new version out, now in either titanium or aluminum (no steel anymore): https://www.pandora-lab.com/shop_tool

I got titanium thinking it is softer than steel and won't scratch the reg. I saw some cheap copies, but rather support the ones who dreamt this thing up...

Just wanted to close the loop on this for future reference.

My new Halcyon jam nuts finally came in. My LDS cut me a break as I guess the list price is $20 ea for them! I got 'em for the bargain basement price of $7.15 ea. I got all 4 of my G250V's outfitted. They came in just in time as we are heading to Playa del Carmen next week for 11 days!

The Halcyon part # is 65.000.012 (at least that's what was on the plastic bag they came in).

I would love someone, anyone, to take a Halcyon jam nut into a machine shop or something and trim one down in height and width to fit a G250. I'd happily pay. Actually I want two. Hair too, but that's a different topic.

@buddhasummer I have tried to do exactly that. I am in need of ten jam nuts. The challenge that I have run into is actually purchasing the nuts. I have contacted several Halcyon dealers and were either told "no, they aren't available" or "I'll check and get back with you". Have yet to hear from any of them. If anyone can actually find them, I'll happily turn them to the correct diameter. I'm also in need of hair :)

Yes, I recall our chatting on the subject. In the past I've tried on numerous occasions to get the Halcyon ones with zero success.

@Geo7

Perhaps we can try for a bulk buy. If anyone is interested post here.

If we can figure out cost of nuts and machining costs perhaps we could organise a run.

Perhaps I'll start another thread dedicated to the quest.

If I put my dogged determination into it reckon I can find a source but be nice to know much interest there is.

Unfortunately Halcyon are locked up tighter than even SP.

I'm thinking maybe 50 initially would be worth it.

I poll it.
