I'd recommend wrist, not console.

Sometimes I bring all my gear with me when I travel for diving, but sometimes I leave my reg and BCD at home if the shop I'm diving with has those covered. Travelling light... mask, fins, wrist computer, wetsuit... isn't an option if your computer is part of your console.
this is great information and perspective yle. thank you so much for your time and information

Wrist mounted DC, with an analog SPG (even if the DC is air integrated). For the type of diving the OP said, I agree, the Shearwater Peregrine would be my pick. In the Spring ‘21 Aqua Lung has a wrist mounted computer that appears to rival the Peregrine.

I use a Suunto but would not buy it now as RGBM is a black box algorithm.

I would get one with Buhlmann ZHL-16C, such as the one of Deep 6 or Sherwater.

In any case, I prefer wrist to console for streamlining.

RGBM being a black-box algorithm is only a consideration where planning is crucial down to the minute. In rec diving just ascend when you hit you min gas or 0/5 min ndl left. You can just scroll through your NDLs before you jump in to plan your dive.

Thnak you . Suunto on hand or Console ? what do you think more practical?

Suunto had a known pressure sensor failure issue and had to be sued to give people the repairs or replacements. Unfortunately only covered devices purchased in the USA. My pressure sensor failed and Sunnto agent told me to get stuffed.

USA Suunto Dive Settlement Information

So bought a Shearwater and Shearwater are known to fix dive computers for owners even if the device is out of warranty.

I would like to be able to understand the algorithm. That is a personal preference.

The extra nearly 1Kg of mass (computer, compass and the three-housing console) created lateral strain on the swivel that I had to service it monthly. Once I removed the console I went back to an annual service.

Yes however the console was definitely Not the cause

i will go with Wrist mounted ....i like the Atmos Mission one . nice factions, including the compass and the fact that you can wear it as a regular watch...

Can you further elaborate on this new Aqualung computer. I am currently in the market for two wrist watch sized dive computers and aqualung is on my radar. I couldn’t find anything on the net about this new DC.
