Is 2-Shea going to the Sheridan on the 28th?

If so I may sign up.....

If I had just one day to dive in the Tampa area, I would do a 2-tank spearfishing trip with 2Shea.

Spearfishing is what makes diving off Pinellas County special. If you want a taste of what the area offers, that’s the experience to aim for.

If you’re not experienced at spearfishing, hire the guide. The add on is about what you’d pay for the extra fuel to get to Blackthorn/Sheridan, they’ll provide your gun if you don’t have one, and you get to keep what your guide/teacher shoots. Also, there’s a much better chance they’ll have a quorum for spearfishing than for the long run out to Blackthorn/Sheridan.

Either trip would be a good day, but the spearfishing is the better opportunity in my opinion.

Best wishes,

Thanks, but I like to take videos of the pretty fish swimming I don't hunt them.

I booked a spot on the 28th. Unless there's a magical heat wave in the next few weeks, I'll be wearing my drysuit :^)

I've always gone with tanks a lot because the times I've tried to book passage, 2shea has been full. 2shea has a fantastic reputation around here, you should have a good time with them.

I'd offer to join you but I've previously decided I'm not going diving until I get vaccinated. Hopefully sooner than later .

2Shea bought Tanks a Lot in late 2019 when the owner retired. It is operated some what separately since the rest of the vessels are run as six packs IIRC.

That explains why the description of the charter on their websites is so similar, including that they don't do dives deeper than 60' (even though they do, apparently).

See you there. Will you be spearfishing? If so let me splash first to get some good videos of the big stuff before you turn them into dinner.

No spearfishing for me. Usually their spearfishing trips are designated as such. Not a great idea to mix sight see-ers and people with weapons.
