Then there's the whole vote with your wallet thing.Thais don't like divers comments, maybe they don't like divers $$$ either.

Shocking given how tame that review looks.

A country famous for backwards laws probably does see a couple years in prison as a reasonable punishment for a disagreement between a restaurant and their guest.

Seems like a bad idea to write a review of a place if you're currently staying there or planning to eat their food again. Good way to get spit or worse into your diet. Bringing a bottle of booze to a restaurant also seems pretty bizarre. Maybe that's common in some places? I've never seen someone do that. Probably why I've never heard of a "cork fee". Now, bringing booze to your hotel when on vacation is pretty common. I do it most of the time when I travel domestically for vacation. It's a non-issue for me traveling internationally as I always go AI. I don't bring it to the table with me if I'm eating at a restaurant. That's just weird.

Lessons learned. Don't go to Thailand. If you have to go to Thailand, don't go to sea view resort. Don't bring booze to a restaurant. Don't post reviews of a place while you're still there.

It looks more benign now because of him being pursued about it for 2 years. If I recall correctly he started out saying ever so much worse things about them. I can't seem to find the article that I originally read.

The man must have a mental disorder of some kind.

He accused them of human trafficking in a previous review.

Mental disorder and/or he’s an a*****e.

There are some US businesses that apparently threaten legal action for anyone who leaves a bad review. I know a number of folks who refuse to leave any negative online comments about a business at all as a result of legal action being threatened.

Leaving a bad review is one thing - even if the guest was totally in the wrong here, it's just another review; making up accusations of highly illegal activity is taking it to a whole different level though.

Did anyone notice this at the end?

In December 2019, a Thai journalist was sentenced to two years in prison for criticizing a chicken farm on Twitter.

Curious what he wrote to wind up in prison.

Check out “Amy’s Baking Company” in Phoenix for example of a company threatening guests who leave bad reviews.
But honestly this guy sounded prettty impossible.
