Hi all,

Im thinking of switching to long hose DIR setup. Would it be ok for me to continue using the R195 as my necklaced reg ? Should i buy another S600 ?

Prices of only a second stage is ridiculously expensive in my area. If i have to switch would you guys recommend that i buy another set of mk25evo/s600 ?

Or should i just sell the whole set and look for other options ?

It’ll work fine. Just make sure you check your necklace reg. I start and end every dive on the necklace and switch to the long hose while descending. Using both on every dive helps you make sure they’re both in good working order.

Use the 195 and keep your eyes open for a better backup, almost any newer balanced second will pair just fine, it doesn’t have to be scubapro.

Deep6 or HOG would fit the bill nicely. FWIW, I'd probably put the S600 on a necklace due to size...

+1 on the C370 (want one)

lots of good options.

I use a C370 on a necklace specifically because of the size. Works great in that role.

The 370 is a nice necklace reg, but the cost of old school s600 is a lot lower. Lately I’m using a D350 or an AIR1 in that role.

My "DIR setup" includes a Deep6 Signature regulator as the bungee necklace backup. I gotta admit, the Deep6 Signature 2nd stage breathes better and easier than my Scubapro S600. So much so that I am gonna switch the primary to the Deep6 Signature and use the SP S600 as the backup on the necklace.

You may want to tune that 600
