Hi guys. Are you in touch? Do you know anything about this model of tactile pressure gauge?
One of the divers wrote to me that perhaps Spirotechnique produced this once. If you have any information, it will be a great luck for me.
I am considering using it for a blind diver.

Somebody mentioned those in a recent tread about spare airs, seems they used to come with one?

Allegedly, it was produced by Spirotechnique (originally name of Aqua Lung International), but there is no evidence of this. I made a request to Aqua Lung International through the Russian office, they could not remember.
Currently, such a device is manufactured by BISM in Japan.

I am looking for the manufacturer of the original product.
This device is intended for the approximate determination of the amount of air in the tank by touch.
The scale is marked in fractions of tank filling: “4” means a full tank, “2” means half a tank.

i remember in the 70s aguy joining our club a brit he said he got it in england and was a very good bsac diver

Don't know if this will help.

BTW, Scubapro also offered a type of SPG (at the end of a hose) that had protruding bar indicating pressure. I think the diver might have been able to touch it or could view it. It is in some of the 60’s catalogs and I have seen pictures of it.

All the catalogs that I am referring about are available for download from VintageDoublehose .com

The thread is Old valves

You could alert the members there to this thread or turn that thread into a zombie for more info.

Yeah, there was a little button that came out of the reg slightly, as I remember it just showed if it was full rather than a true pressure indication.

There were a number of tank valves made that had a pressure indication built into them, it was used instead of a tank pressure gauge ( like the ones the LDS uses to check tanks) back when SPGs were not widely used. Check Old valves for pictures.

I remember some old valves had a pin gauge built in. I might even have one in the junk bin. Probably '80s, maybe 70's?

Was there a glass tube in the back of the gauge?

They are my favorite for the Spare Air but at best they say "Really full", "Partially full" or "Not full at all".
