I'm going to start dusting off by beach diving gear....hopefully the beaches in LBTS will open soon...funny how things work, i don't think it's 25 yards from portal to ocean.

Today!!! Phil Foster Park opened back up!! I may try and get in a late afternoon dive tomorrow. We'll see how bad the crowds are for this afternoon's high tide.

Of course it's opening just in time for rainy season. It dumped across SEFL yesterday afternoon and will again today and tomorrow. There goes the stellar viz. Oh well ... I'm good with low viz. I started my diving life in Indiana!

Well, did ya go?
Just got off the phone with someone who did a boat dive there this afternoon. Said it was a good relaxing dive.

I plan on hitting the BHB on Thursday, high tide is 8:07am and sunup is 6:30am, weather permitting! The truck is broken so I have to use the Subaru instead. I have found that on really early morning dives during the week the park is pretty empty. There are times that I was the only diver there. If anyone wants to meet up let me know.

No ... I said I was planning to go ‘tomorrow’ i.e. today. Currently planning to go this afternoon depending upon the afternoon storms. I will report back!

if you can dodge the afternoon storms, we will be waiting for that report....

Great dive this evening. Phil Foster Park was almost deserted. The rains passed through late afternoon leaving beautiful diving conditions. Only saw two other divers underwater and a few snorkelers,

Viz was 15-20 improving to 30-40 as high tide approached. 80 F water temp.

Great dive!

ADDITION: While logging the dive this morning I just realized that my last dive at BHB was 3/19, the day BEFORE they closed it on 3/20. Yesterday was 5/19 and it was the day AFTER they re-opened the park on 5/18. Two months apart exactly between those two dives at the Bridge!

Here are a few topside photos. I took these around 5:30 pm right before gearing up. You can see that the crowds at the park were very light yesterday. Almost deserted honestly. Also notice the new sign regarding social distancing. Also a photo from standing on the piling base to show you the nice viz.

Thanks for the update JimBlay. I couldn’t tell precisely from your photographs, but is the concrete pad in the second photo the place where the west side shower is/was located? Are the showers still in place or have they been removed?
