Hello all. I think you misunderstood my initial message. I love mountain biking because it's the thing to do here. It helps me stay in shape and I just turned 65 so it keeps me fit for diving too. I can ride to DuPont State Forest from where I live, enjoy some single track and then head home on gravel. Thanks for your replies. I was happy to hear from you all.

Out here in Seattle area and there's a lot of 50+'ers on MTBs and we're not on e-bikes. I'm still riding a Specialized Stumpjumper and grinding up our local mountains. With Puget Sound and a lot really great trails, both are in order.

52 years , Cannondale FS/I, no e-bike

So glad to see this thread. I'm 51 years old and still love to ride trails in the woods and around mountains. Since I can only dive one or twice a year, I have to find another hobby I'm passionate about.

58 years young, road a hardtail Specialized Stumpjumper, and then got full suspension Santa Cruz 5010c, to help my lower back, and I love single track. But, since moving to Florida, I dive much more than I ride. Sold my Santa Cruz, and have sellers remorse. But, pretty flat state and too friggin hot to ride in the summer. I do miss it!

OK, if I survive the next 5 years, I'll check how many of you stay in business then. Biking on fire roads does not count!

Fire roads in the mountains are better than any biking in the flat lands. I don't understand your negativity? I have friends that live on the coast and road bike 40 miles, 3 times a week, who come here to ride and can hardly make it up the climbs. Any mountain bike riding is good for the body and soul.

59, still do both, but 1 year and 1/2 ago I wrecked the bike and ended up with a Grade 3 separation of my shoulder, a major hip contusion, a tad of a concussion and road rash from head to toe. Just takes a little longer to heal.....

This new forum member lives in Pisgah Forest, NC where mountain biking is the thing and my love of diving is the other thing. Wife Susan has been my diving buddy for many years and Bonaire is our dive location of choice.

Bike in the AM then drive about 1 hour to Lake Jocassee and dive the forest?
