The AOW book I have is called "Adventures in diving". I have to assume simply buying it from the shop doing the training is the easiest way to get it.

I think you should ask the shop where you plan to do AOW what you need exactly.
I did it with a manual and read every dive topic in it. I think now you only need to do the theory of the dives your going to do.
Oh and the smb and whistle pack for is pretty basic.. you might want to look at your options on that one..

I can now answer some of my own questions.....
Today, I bought the “current” Padi AOW manual & slate. The product number for the manual is 79199. Next to this product number is (Rev. 09/16) Version1.01. After browsing the 328 page manual, I found a 32 page coarse introduction and 13 adventure dive descriptive chapters for all the dive options.
