Agree – love seeing sharks. To date, I’ve seen nurse, black tips, white tips, oceanic white tips, hammers, silver tips, silkies, galapagos, sand tigers, grays, Caribbean reef, and one thresher. The giant mobulas were amazing last year.

Now after venturing off to Red Sea 2018 and Socorro 2019, my wife is “bored with Cozumel, we don’t see anything”

:rofl3::rofl3::rofl3::rofl3:

Agree with AfterDark. While I like a variety of diving environments, I think I like wreck diving the most. There always seems to be a large amount and wide variety of sea life on wrecks and as he mentioned, the water off the NC coast is usually clear. Love the Hyde. My wife still says it is her favorite dive we have ever done.

We'll see if she still says that after the Roatan invasion in June.

And when I don't find one of those cool dives to perform, I practice solo diver emergency ascents (I do enjoy it).

Back in the 1980's the group of guys that were in my DM course used to fun dive and practice controlled ascents to see who could do it from the greatest depth. Sort of a chest beating event. I found that I could do a free ascent from quite deep.

CAVEAT: We were doing this in a very controlled situation and would never recommend this without proper training or planning.

Cheers - M²

Any dive where the surface of the water is above, or on the same level as, my body. :)

OK, here goes. Here are some shark videos from last Aug. We saw lots of Bulls, Silky's and Lemon's on this dive. These are all short 12 to 20 seconds or so videos

Tropical coral reef dives with lots of varied wildlife, wearing a shorty or less. My best dive I saw tons of tropical fishies, a turtle, a juvenile bull shark, eels, and spotted eagle rays, all on the same dive.

My usual dives, Im wearing an 8/7 mm with hood, so i love the freedom of just swim trunks and a rashguard.

My son and I dive Calypso shark dive adventures out of Jupiter FL few times a year. We've never once sat on the bottom. All of our dives have been drift dives.

Quick follow up. Of 7 dives with them, we did different sorts of dives. The one I mentioned was behind the ESSO Bonaire wreck. It afforded an opportunity for the feeder to work with the tiger while we hung out at the rear of the wreck, and then he could motion us down to the sand when ready and things were going well. We did more than one dive there, so I don’t recall specifics.

We did do a drift dive with bull sharks once, though, I recall that.

cheap, deep, wreck, night or all at once.
