Looks like a cleaning station, do sharks come in too? Looking forward to diving this over Xmas.

Ya, you don’t want to miss this site when you are in Misool.

I saw sharks half of the times (2 out of 4 times I was there). However, they are mostly swimming by to look for food, which are plentiful.

So far this cleaning station is only for Oceanic & Reef Mantas. Unlike the one in German Channel, Palau, where you see sharks hanging out, sharing the cleaner fish with the mantas. That German Channel cleaning station is unique. The only one I have seen where those sharks just hovering few feet above the reef at an angle, opening their mouths wide for those cleaner wrasse to clean their teeth.

BTW, one of the reasons why there are so much fish there is the enforcement of “No Take Zone” initiated by the founder of Misool Eco Resort, Andrew & Marit Miners, as you see more of their story here:

I will say this (to counter some enthusiasm)

The Manta's are migratory so there are periods where they're not in that area

I've visited Misool 6 times so far and always picked the right times

Last visit we were the first to see the Mantas on their return on MM, however the next day none were seen there. On the sites we'd picked we were inundated with them

Even if MM has no Manta's its a great site - its been used by the BBC for Blue Planet etc Look carefully and you'll see Wobbegong Sharks

There's a great ridge that if you're allowed to follow it down has some great action deep, when the current is flowing across it - but the best part is below 30m (100')

And yes, I know the "park rule" is no deeper than 30m and no deco - but if you dive with the right staff and are capable....
