interesting......
I just gave it a quick try; I think i'll work, but requires tri-glides without teeth to get that thickness of webbing through.

I had a pocket fall off, using approach the OP used, on my last dive. I also was looking for a way to easily add/remove pockets from the harness, because with my Freedom plate I don't need any extra lead in a 3 mil, but use 4 kg in a semidry that I prefer to have on my waist.

It's 2 AM now and i'm too tired to drag out my whole rig, but maybe I'll give it a shot this week. I'll post pictures after.

With my method, you can even use the plastic ones (seem to have wider slots)...

The split in the webbing attachment is to allow you to place a slide between them to secure the pocket without taking up extra space in your belt.

Here's a picture from a different DGX pocket: View attachment 550493

The plastic slide is for sale here: DGX Black Plastic {2 in | 5.1 cm} Belt Slide | Dive Gear Express®

Yeah, that is how they intend those to be used. I use the XS Scuba ones and they aren't like that.....

I also use my method to secure a bigger pocket...

YMMV

I also put heavy weights in a belt pocket. After you have tested your pocket, go back when it is dried and feel with your fingers for any sharp points either on the pocket nylon straps or which ever hardware you choose. Sand smooth those sharp points with sand paper. I didn't smooth out those points the 1st time and over a hundred dives or so, it started to frey and destroy my wetsuit in just that single area. The sharper points may not feel like much, but over time you'll see the damage to the wetsuit in that spot. It just takes a few minutes to fix a long term problem.

I have the XS Scuba ones too which I use as weight pockets. I have all them all way against the plate and put the hip d-rings on after them to keep everyone in place.

PFFFF....what a dunce I am.

Thank you to the OP for starting this thread and thank you to @divezonescuba for responding with you pics.

For the past few years I have been diving with a set of Dive Rite quick ditch weight pockets on my backplate harness. I was using plastic triglides just forward of the pockets strap to block them from sliding forward, after that I have metal triglides holding bent D-rings in place. I never thought the plastic triglides were doing that great a job of securing the pockets in place and I never even thought to thread the harness so the plastic triglides are superimposed on the pocket strap to lock it in place....I just fixed that and my weight pockets are now nicely secured.

I learned something new today.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
