Used to make both Alum and SS plates under the G.U.T.S. brand in custom sizes (small, med and lg).
Consider the cost per # of 316L SS, cutting, shearing, laser/waterjet costs, deburring, polishing, packaging, shipping.
$245 is a pretty sweet deal!

no, i am not tall enough to need one.
Looking at the price of 316L per Kg of 316L (which is an inferior grade of Stainless compared to 316Ti which has a slightly higher density and holds its form better) and I come up with prices around 7USD per Kg. A long backplate weighs around 4Kg but depending on your cutting pattern you might end up wasting half the material before your plate is properly cut, but we are still talking about a maximum of 56USD for the material.
Almost 190USD for laser cutting, deburring, countersinking and folding the plate is only a sweet deal for the company providing the service.
No wonder the Chinese are doing good business selling 316Ti/1.4571 plates for around 75 USD in Ebay.
