You must have watched us doing that on the boat sometime in the past few years... last August was the first time we had somebody else start doing the same mid-week after seeing us doing it.

I started that trend on the Ark.

Nice report. I too love LCBC. Great resort and diving.

Regarding the smell, remember that there is a large marshy area across the road. When the breeze is just right, the smell of bird poop can be pretty obvious.

We never had any odors during the week that I was at LCBR.

We've been there three times over a decade and only noticed it once. I only mentioned it in case the lowly seaweed was being unjustly accused. ;-)

That description reminds me of the Cayman Brac Beach Resort, not so much LCBR.

Casual clothes, noted.
Stuff bottle in cooler, noted.
Fill bottle with lunch punch, noted.
Bring important gear as carry-on GC-->LC flight, noted.

THANK YOU! :)

Yeesh. Blood worms. Good excuse for me not to night dive when we are there in January. We were just in Roatan (coco view) and as the night divers were getting ready I saw 3 dudes just diving in their trunks! I asked "Not even a skin for the blood worms?" They thought I was kidding. Later a few people came up to me and said never again.

It may look weird but I actually bring a hood with me to the tropics specifically to wear during night dives because of the blood worms - yuck! I cover up as much as possible and I wish I could wear gloves.

I was at LCBR for my second visit at InnerSpace 2019. Absolutely loved the trip, the resort, the food, and most of all the diving!! Hitting 330’ for my first time was epic!!

The sargassum smell was pretty bad but I’m a plumber, so take that for what it’s worth. There was a lot of buildup on the shore and in the lagoon where the boats were parked. It will not keep me from going back again though, even if I can’t bring my rebreather next trip.

You can bring your rebreather all year round to the nearby Cayman Brac Beach Resort, but you would have to contact the dive shop for more information:

Great advice. What is it based on. An annual trip in October during slow season and the bottom of Sargassum season? Each month is different and we all want to give customers the best possible experience but will not be dishonest based on year. Is there something special someone who comes once a year can offer? We are always open to visitors comments. I don’t have rebreather experience except on a very limited basis. What is your actual experience? Always great to have relative suggestions.
