Not sure if this is fleet-wide but I was aboard the Rock Island Aggressor in Palau this May. They had an all-metal pair of open cubbies for charging. Each cubby had US-standard 120VAC receptacles.


They only allowed charging small stuff like shavers and cell phones in cabins. Stewards looked out for violations but there was nothing that would prevent charging larger stuff overnight in violation of the rules.

Perhaps a job for the "night watchman" that has been cited as allegedly missing from the Conception can look for violations?

Anyone can see that that boat was not equipped to evacuate 46 people in quick order from the bunk room even if there was no fire.

Yes, it was aimed at you. Sorry I wasn't clearer. You are cherry-picking some things that have been published, many of which have been debunked, many times. the graphic is wrong - look elsewhere to support your opinions.

True about the watch - no evidence yet -

But the graphic presented is more than adequate to show inadequate escape. Over bunks to get the rear hatch? (this has also been mentioned elsewhere in detail. Anyone who believes that space can evacuate 46 people in an emergency with BOTH routes available is soaked in optimistic hubris - no fire needed to make it dangerous. Won't even get to issues like being asleep, not alert, wrapped in blankets, bunk bed heaven, etc. the possibility (unknown) that there were no lights, smoke filled, etc. and so on).

Sorry, this old hag of a boat should not have been resurrected after it was stolen and beached...

Forget about a fire for a second because in the case of a Li-Io battery / multi cell pack, its the Hydrogen Fluoride gas that knocks you out relatively instantly. A fatal dose of inhaled Hydrogen Fluoride mimics drowning due to the resultant pulmonary edema - victims drown in their own lung fluid. When I read the first reports from the sheriff stating that four victims pulled from the water showed physical trauma consistent with drowning, it really got me thinking. Read the White Paper below:

I'm not saying batts and or a charger is what caused the fire but its interesting to note that survivors of small to (moderate) amounts of of Hydrogen Fluoride poisoning typically show signs of contact within 12-24 hours and will then be treated.
I suppose you could say that Hydrogen Fluoride is the "weak sister" to Hydrogen Cyanide which is what 3 US states still use in their gas chambers to execute people on death row.
