Wanted to stitch patches onto my harness - Nylon Webbing 2". Does anyone see any issues? Does this damage or decrease the strength of the webbing?

If it does, I'm just going to stitch on to my BCD outer cover which I believe is also webbing.

The tensile strength of nylon webbing is probably 5000 lbs plus. I wouldn't worry about stitching a patch on it. I'd be very careful of stitching anything to a BCD, however. The internal bladder might not like the additional roughness it sees.

Depending on the patch, however, maybe the only concern would be the ribbing you might get from having merit badges on your kit.
