I did two dives June 7th on the North Shore. Bottom temps were 48-50° at depth. Lots of nasty surge and vis was 10-15' at best but there were some bugs around. We saw some Lobzillas over 10 lbs and lots of oversized eggers. The legal bugs we got were all hard shelled and packed with meat. I ended up with 11 and my buddy got 9. Great day on the water and I can't wait to go again this week!

Nice Catch,,,Congrats !!

Very cool! Congratulations! I've always wanted to dive for east coast bugs. Never known exactly what states it was legal, where to go, etc..

Out here in California I've spent many happy nights (and days) doing the panulirus interruptus search. :)

Here is me (in drysuit) and my buddies Gary and Jack after a dive at San Nicolas Island back in the 80's. Too much fun!

Congratulations on a great productive bug hunt

Very impressive !

What is the bag limit per day ?
The weight of your largest bug ?

SDM
Bag limit is 15 per day but there is a minimum and maximum size and they can't have notched tail or eggs.
A little over 3 lbs and two were 2 1/2 lbs. Rest were between 1 1/4 and 2 lbs.

I prefer the little ones, and will wait until September when there is a better chance of getting shedders.

It looks like you live in FL. How do you dive legally up here or are you referring to your FL lobsters?

I have a house on the Saco River about 1/2 mile up from Camp Ellis. Of course, taking lobsters on Scuba in Maine is both illegal and dangerous if caught by a lobsterman...

They appeared considerably larger ! Never the less still very impressed with the catch - size and amount

Note the California bugs heals by the @Scuba Lawyer those "Appear" to be in the 5 to 10 pound class, Which are typical catch size for California .

I have a California bug mounted and on at a local shop that weighted 17 pounds abd 2 oz/

Pretty dangerous if you get caught by us law-abiding divers too.
