I’m in need of some advice I got these at a great deal on these 2 units but I’m not sure if they are worth getting serviced and operational again. I have two respirators the one unit a 1 stage Dacor 1 with a swivel neck. It has 2 PBD Dacor XL and the other spare is a Dacar Pacer not XL. The second one is a Dacor Balanced Olympic 1St stage with 2 PBD both are 900 Olympic. Im including pictures hopefully I can get some insight into other divers thoughts on fixing them I have been quoted around $150.00 too $175.00 each to repair them. I would be interested in your thoughts on them they are in great shape but they are old units and I understand parts aren’t always available. Thank you in advance for any advice on them it would be very much appreciated.

I would be very leary of anyone who is offering to service these. Service kits have not been available for quite a number of years so odds are they are not actually servicing them but rather taking them apart, cleaning and putting them back together with the same parts......if that. Even if they do have kits, they are 20 or 30 years old. The second stages are usable since they use generic parts but otherwise, you need new(er) regs. I restore old reg so I have a pretty good handle on these regs (I have rebuilt a couple 400s for myself).

Thanks the shop that I deal with has extra parts from other units for these units of mine and he is willing to do the work on them but I’m not sure if they are worth putting $150.00-$175.00 into each unit. I put air into both of them and the air is free flowing through the primary and secondary units.

As @herman described, there is zero OEM support or parts availability for US made Dacor. Anything you find available is dependent on your trust in after market parts and knowledge.
(Side note: Mares produced Dacor branded gear for about 5 years, and that is still serviceable with current Mares kits.)

trident has first stage seats and diaphragms for some of the dacor models in their catalogue. aftermarket but not oem.

i wouldn't bother unless if you can get a hold of the parts and want to do it as a DIY project.

Save the money you will need to spend on this regulators and buy a modern regulator you can get parts and service for with a much higher degree of reliability.

Beautiful the 300 used to hide my car key in the first stage

and the house keys too ha ha ha fairdinkum

yes I can

What I’m hearing is that I will be relying on used parts to fix these 2 units if they are available not sure if I really want to trust used parts.

I’m better off getting a new regulator and just take these ones as a DIY instead would you know if I can get a parts diagram for them would enjoy the opportunity to learn how to take them apart and see how they operate. Thanks for all your advice
