I got a pair of Hog Tech 2 fins used for $50 over the winter to use with my doubles. The only problem is that they only have a little pull tab on the spring straps. No finger loop. I have trouble getting them on at the quarry standing in the water (“beach” entry) due to that little pull tab being difficult to grab a hold of with dry gloves.

I need ideas for what I can do to jury rig a finger loop. They need to be simple, no machining, 3D printing, or the like. Thanks!

Bungee loops?

I wonder if that sprig is the same size as Deep6 or Hollis fins... if so, I wonder if you could get a pair of the plastic things they put on their fins???

I have a pair of Atomic splits I use for laps in the pool. The finger loop on those spring straps is nice and big. I’ll see about taking the plastic loop off those fund and if it fits Hog spring straps.

Hey Marie...

I've dove with OMS SlipStream fins for years...with S/S spring straps...the same as the ones in your photos...minus that little tab...

With the fin on...with the strap still under your heel...it's easy to grab the strap...give it a stretch...and place it behind your heal to the location you find most comfortable...

Get yourself slightly positively buoyant...makes it easier...

You may need to retro-fit your straps...with the type with the vinyl loop if you prefer it that way...I'd avoid a ''jury rig'' fix...do it right...do it once...

These S/S spring straps with large thumb loop by Poseidon would be a direct fit for your HOG power fins...

Happy to see you're doing well with your doubles...

Best...

Warren
