I've been using two grey ones and never had a problem.

Me too. Never had an interference problem. I don't have hundreds of dives with that setup, though.

Can it display data from 2 transmitters on the same screen?

I just went through the Core manual and I couldn’t find anything that specifically says it can display more than one transmitter on the same screen. If I remember correctly, don’t you already have at least one Suunto transmitter already?

I’ve seen the display in person (SM instructor had one - not using AI). Really nice and large. Your best bet would be to call a shop that carries the Core and ask about the 2 transmitter at once display capability. I know LeisurePro has a Core and one transmitter package deal going on, so likely other retailers have it as well.

@ChuckP

Just email back to the Shearwater US rep. I ended up getting another gray transmitter since I’m not diving SM anymore. I’ll use the 2nd gray transmitter on my single tank regs so I don’t have to switch transmitter between single and doubles regs.

I’m holding out, I still want to learn sidemount for caves and have nothing but time! They can always ship it to you and you bring it to Mexico!!!!

Now why would I be bringing it to you in MX? Couldn’t if I wanted to. My passport has been sent in for renewal in advance of my 2 trips to the Great White North this summer.

the transmitters are FCC regulated as radio equipment hence why they are stamped FCC ID MH8A

I am not sure the FCC is the delay. The gray, yellow, and even green transmitters are all stamped MH8A, so there was no change to the FCC product ID when they decided that the transmit cycle of the yellow should be different than the gray. They are all considered Part 15 Low Power Transmitters that transmit at 38 kHz.

Many times when there is a "voluntary" product recall the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is contacted. I am not saying this is the case with the yellow transmitters, but I suspect that Pelagic Pressure Systems being a US company likely would engage the CPSC if they announce a product recall. They certainly have engaged the CPSC in past voluntary product recalls.

Yes it can, from the tec/oc menu you can set it up to display T1 & T2.

For what it's worth, I have been diving sidemount with two grey transmitters for about 10 years now (Oceanic computer, but same transmitters used by Shearwater) and I have never had a problem with loss of signal. I now have around 20 dives on my Teric and no problems at all. I understand the theory behind the different transmitter timings causing potential problems, but based on my real world use over hundreds of hours of dives I don't think this is an issue in practice. The point is I wouldn't stress about the lack of availability of the yellow transmitters.
