It's a known problem for some of the models. Contact shearwater and they will get you a replacement transmitter without a problem.
This was my experience when mine popped. Didn’t even need to send the failed one in.

Try to keep up.Hard to believe -- everyone tells me that AI technology is bulletproof and a mechanical SPG will let you down every time. I am confused![]()
I suppose you can provide a quotation from "everyone" supporting that assertion.Hard to believe -- everyone tells me that AI technology is bulletproof and a mechanical SPG will let you down every time. I am confused![]()
Thanks you all.
I have contacted shearwater and hopefully they will replace it no charge (the transmitter is about 3 years old)
HP leaks don’t lone as much air as LP leaks, if it happened underwater you should have plenty of bail out time. Shearwater service should be the model for the industry rather than the noteworthy exception.Wow, Shearwater’s service is outstanding — they already sent me an RMA and will replace the unit.
Really glad it didn’t happen underwaterIn sidemount it wouldn’t have been a big deal since I could feather the valve, but on a single tank at 100 ft… that would’ve been a whole different story!
