I'm increasingly suspicious of the info under an avatar. Instructor does't mean instructor, Solo doesn't mean solo, 0-24 or uncertified doesn't mean squat Divemaster doesn't mean functioning,
Agree. I haven't been active since 2015. Your avatar can be DM if you just took the course and you wouldn't be lying.
In 1975 I was lucky enough to sub in an orchestra for one concert in Carnegie Hall. I played in ONE of the pieces, but have mentioned that I played in Carnegie Hall to folks. Meant relatively nothing.

In your poll, a few options are missing. From my world, I'd like to see:

CMAS 1* (roughly equivalent to PADI OW, fulfils ISO 24801-2)
CMAS 2* (roughly PADI RD "light", valid to 30m)
CMAS 3* (above PADI DM, valid to 56m unless national limitations, and light backgas deco)
BSAC OD (roughly equivalent to PADI OW, fulfils ISO 24801-2)
BSAC SD (roughly PADI DM, valid to 35m)
BSAC DL (roughly PADI DM, valid to 50m)
BSAC AD

Equivalent Diving Qualifications: BSAC, PADI, CMAS, NAUI, etc - SCUBA Travel

I couldn't put down everything, it shorted the Assistant instructor and SSI Dive Con as well, just pick whats close enough. It isn't as if I have a grant riding on this, just putting some rough numbers to another thread.

I cant believe the lack of OW divers, 0 so far.

It’s possibly because you posted the poll in advanced discussions ?

I have an ice diver cert which Is a specialty but AOW is required to take the course so possibly considered a higher cert than AOW?

I didn't think that would stop OW divers from reading and voting in the poll, but I've been wrong before.

I guess if I took your poll, I’d say instructor with MSD obtained along the way. I don’t however find being an instructor a high level cert. A person can become an instructor very easily...

I find the talk of one very being “higher” or “above” another cert very silly. Being a tech instructor who is CCR advanced Trimix and full cave doesn’t make me somehow elite. It just means I invested a lot of time and money into getting certified and competent to do the dives I want to do.
